Kevin W. Settles

has been a research assistant at IParl since January 2022. He also works as a proofreading assistant for the magazine for parliamentary affairs (ZParl). In his master's thesis in the "Parliamentary Affairs and Civil Society" course at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, he dealt with the perception of representational matters of German MPs during the Corona crisis. In 2020, he helped to coordinate the research project WK-C19, which examined the work of German MPs under the difficult conditions of the pandemic. As part of a teaching and research project at the University of Kassel, he, in collaboration with Dr. Nadin Fromm, is investigating the role perception of municipal elected representatives during the winter semester of 2023/24. Further areas of interest range from fundamental questions of representation theory to the constitution of political communication and digitization in the field of politics.
