Four months before the upcoming Bundestag election, Benjamin Höhne explores the question: "How do parties organise their parliamentary candidates? Personnel management ahead of the Bundestag election 2017". This article incorporates the initial results of an ongoing IParl research project. The article was published in a commemorative publication in honour of Oskar Niedermayer (FU Berlin). Its title is: "Parties, party systems and political orientations. Current contributions to party research". The editor is Carsten Koschmieder (also FU Berlin), who presented the anthology, published by Springer Verlag in Wiesbaden, at Mr Niedermayer's farewell lecture at the beginning of July 2017.
